When a floor peels off in sheets a year after it went down, the coating almost never gets the blame it deserves — the problem is that it was laid on concrete that was never properly prepared.
The slab has to be ground back with a diamond grinder first. That takes off the smooth, dusty top layer, plus any old paint or sealer, and leaves a rough surface the coating can grab onto. Acid and a roller won't do it, no matter what the tin says.
Cracks and joints get cut out and filled rather than painted over. Coat straight over a crack and it comes back through within months.
If damp is coming up through the slab — common in older places and in anything built on a low block — that gets dealt with first too. Moisture pushing up from below will lift a perfectly good floor off perfectly good concrete.
It's the slowest part of the job, the least impressive-looking on the invoice, and the reason some floors last ten years and others last one.

How it works
We turn up, look at the concrete and ask what the floor gets used for. Then you get a fixed price in writing. It costs you nothing and you're not locked into anything.
This is the bit that matters. The concrete gets ground back so the coating can grip it properly, and any cracks get filled first. Skip it and the floor peels later.
